ATTN: About Last Week

Show Updates

ABOUT LAST WEEK

Here’s a breakdown of what happened last week with the Radio X show.

  • 8:30pm: While getting the audio production prepared for the show, I noticed a little bit of lag.
  • 8:45pm: While trying to put together the show prep for the Hollywood Report, I noticed that I could not access web pages.
  • 9:00pm: Still having issues loading web pages, I noticed the stream to K-IRB.com was buffering out and I was having difficulty maintaining any kind of internet connection, including to AOL and Yahoo! messengers.
  • 9:10pm: I did the first reboot, thinking if I reset the system the problem will fix and any programs causing any internet connection issues will be shut down.
  • 9:20pm: I rebooted the modem, and connected the system directly to the modem. Still having internet connection issues.
  • 9:30pm: I noticed the stream started to work and my internet was okay, but I had no show prep. As I started to collect everything, the internet started acting funny again.
  • 9:45pm: *I* had a breakdown. I realized by this point I was not able to connect to the internet to do the show so I was going to cancel the show. Now, I had to let everyone know. But. I. Had. No. Internet. This was going to be interesting.
  • 9:50pm: Using my cell phone I send a Twitter message out announcing the show can’t go on.
  • 10:05: I finally get to update the website.

We were starting with a new affiliate this week. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out like it was supposed to, but we are a part of the Cockroach family now, and they went ahead and aired last week’s show for their inaugural running.

As for the technical issues, a phone call to our internet provider says it may have been a packet loss, but the provider was unable to find out where the problem actually is. I’ve kept an eye on the network since Thursday night and so far, no issues.

The Radio X show is scheduled to return to the air this Wednesday night live at 10pm Eastern/9pm Central. I look forward for you to join myself, Whitters, and the antics that make up the Radio X show.
